How Society Behaves Towards Gay People

The society’s attitudes against homosexuality vary greatly by different cultures and different historical periods as well as attitudes toward desire sexual activity and sexual relationships in general. In the medieval ages being gay was something to be proud of.

All cultures have their own values appropriate and inappropriate in relation to sexuality. Some of them awarded some love and sexual relations between persons of the same sex, while others punish with prison or death or criticize such activities. People that maintain a heterosexual behavior, different sets of requirements can be given to individuals according to their gender, age , status  or social class.  In Japan the samurai class of medieval age it was recommended to a teenager who had a beginner erotic relationship with an older warrior, but sexual relations between the two became inadequate as the boy became an adult. A stupid way of live but it was what they used to think at that time with their tiny brains.

Most of the world’s cultures have considered not same sex as a relationship to be recognized like the sexual standard. Some religions, especially those influenced by the Abrahamic tradition, have traditionally condemned the acts and homosexual relationships, in some cases implementing severe punishments on offenders like prison or death sentence. You can see several men being hanged in a website about violence in the Middle East. I am not telling the site here because of under aged people that might be reading it.  Since the seventies the world has become more acceptable sexual relations between same sex people when they reach the legal age, 18 years old is most countries.

Africa and Middle East are the ones with the biggest punishments towards same sex relationships.

Although it is more accepted than before, it is still a controversial issue for many of us in today’s society. For instance, a lot of families don’t approve of it. Good topic to write about.
