Men believe that girls, who indulge in sex first time, lose blood. Men believe that hymen (a thin fleshy membrane that partially covers the vaginal opening) breaks at first intercourse and girls bleed during first intercourse. But this is not true. It is not necessary that all girls bleed during first intercourse. Hymen tissue can simply extend during penetration rather than rip and bleed.
The following things can cause the hymen to rip:
- Physical exercise like riding a bike
- Doing gymnastics
- Injury to the genital area
- Inserting a tampon, finger, or sex toy into the vagina
Sometimes there is uneasiness and girls bleed when their hymen breaks. It is also possible that girls may not bleed or feel pain at all. In fact, a girl may not even know when her hymen breaks.
On the contrary, post-sex bleeding can happen for a variety of reasons besides a broken hymen. Different types of infections, polyps of the cervix or abnormal cervical cells can cause bleeding during sex. A tear in the vagina from vigorous sex without enough lubrication is also possible. If a girl does not bleed during first intercourse, it should not be considered that she is not a virgin.
So, if you believe that a girl who bleeds after first sex is a virgin, rethink. The only way to know for surety about your girl’s virginity is that your girl tells you the truth about her virginity.
