      Breast tenderness and discomfort during one’s menstrual cycle can be relieved by a cool compress or a warm shower. Many of the same techniques used to help make a woman comfortable when her breasts are lactating can help with some of the discomfort that comes from monthly hormonal fluctuations. Make sure, however, that your breast discomfort is not due to an improperly fitted bra. Most often, I have found that my discomfort was because of my bra. Under-wire bras, in my opinion, should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Partly because I find them to be excruciating and feel that women should not torture themselves with these things unless necessary. Partly because the pressure of the wire can inhibit some of the movement of the lymph within the body. This can result in breast discomfort because there are several lymph nodes within the breast.

Final Word

     As I had stated several times earlier in this article, it is vital that you take responsiblity for your health and well being. You have only one body. You are a wonderful and valueable person. Cherish and love the body you have because it is a part of you. Don’t fall for the self-denigration trap that has been set for you by society. It robs you of the power and dignity that is yours by virtue of your birth and existence. All people deserve respect, including women, and all people deserve to be healthy.

     Don’t forget that in owning and careing for your health, it also includes your mental and emotional health. Take stands to protect yourself from people who would hurt you emotionally and psychologically. Embrace the moments that make you happy and treasure the people who encourage you to be true to who you are. You are wonderful and perfect just as you are right now!

     You may have things you would like to change. I know that I have plenty that I’d like to change about myself. Do so because it is what you wish to grow and become, not because some one else wants you to. Focus upon becoming healthy in mind and body so that you can enjoy your life, do it for yourself. Because you are worth it. I have faith in you, all of you.
