Sad After Sex. A Third Of Women Say They Feel Sad After Sex

When I first heard this, I asked myself: How can one feel sad after sex? Sex is supposed to be enjoyed. But this unfortunately is not the case for some women.

According to a very recent study conducted in Australia it was found out that one third of the women experience sadness after participating in a sexual intercourse.

The survey was done on a number of 200 young women in Australia. According to the reports from LiveScience, the study found out that a third of the women admitted to having instant feelings of anxiety, irritability and sadness after engaging in sexual intercourse.

Experts have said that the cause of the sadness that most women experience after sex is relatively unknown.

Robert Schweitzer of the Queensland Institute of Technology and the study author said that the post-coital sadness in some women could be as a result of prior sexual abuse. Because a woman who has gone through sexual abuse before has the tendency of feeling guilt during sexual activity – and of course that can lead to anxiety and sadness during the act.

Robert Schweitzer said there could be several other factors that could contribute to the post-sex sadness in the bedroom. And the next research seeks to unearth that.

The researchers have stressed on the need for more researches to be done on this issue in other age groups of women and different locations to find out if they would also report similar characteristics.
