Put in ‘High Class Escort’ in your search engine and google will sputter to life with almost unending enthusiasm. With names such as Platinum Select, HighClassOnly and Elite Liasons – all these agencies have only one thing in mind: To provide you with the woman or man of your choice for a night on the town or possibly more. The possibly more is because whilst many people think prostitution is illegal in the UK, it’s actually not. Soliciting, kerb crawling and advertising for prostitution is. So you’ll just have to wonder what the possibly more is and I don’t expect it will take much imagination to come up with the answer.

From country to country the laws regarding prostitution vary greatly from being a punishable crime to being a regulated, legal industry. In the branch of prostitution we are looking at, namely Escort Agencies, the act will take place either at the customers residence, a hotel room (out call) or at the escorts residence (in call). It is worth noting that not all escorts are prostitutes, some are just there to add decoration to your arm for the evening and impress friends and clients, albeit a very expensive way to impress friends and clients.

No-one can deny that it is a lucrative business for all involved. In the US these girls can command figures from $600 an hour to $2000. For most of the girls involved however, the split is often quite high between themselves and the agency – 50/50 is not uncommon.

There is less danger associated with the Escort side of prostitution, as mostly business men of means use the service. This isn’t necessarily the case as background checks are random at best and some girls have called it rife with danger. The police treat prostitution with disdain and if the girls are raped or beaten, they won’t usually report it to the police as they are treated with little respect and even contempt on occasion.

While the idea of prostitution is not a new one, these days it is a much less secretive one than it used to be. For those girls who do sign up for the job, they are expected to have very intimate pictures plastered across the internet, although more often than not, they won’t have to show their faces for privacy reasons.

Being an escort isn’t always as seedy as it sounds however. Businessmen often require a companion purely for business functions in which all other members are bringing their wives and having a woman on their arm will provide them with more status. Similarly it can be a huge boost to have an attractive man/woman at your side when invited to a wedding where your ex is the star attraction.

Selling sex isn’t a new idea but it seems to be changing with the times. It seems we’re now selling sex appeal and confidence.
