Proper education on the subject of sex can alone protect children from pedophiles when young and from exploiters later. Laws and their reinforcement comes much too later and is of little use to a victim who becomes a victim purely due to ignorance.

Sex education should be ‘age appropriate.’ Some things, such as the idea of ‘wrong touching’ of one’s body by another should be taught well before adolescence so that a child knows they should report it if someone touches them in certain places. Leaving that to adolesence is far too late. Sex education about one’s own sexual feelings and desires can be left a little longer.
