Sexting: New Technology, Old Wish: Part One

There are two myths about the practice must be challenged:

1. Only teenagers do. This is simply not true. According to a recent survey, “Internet and American Life Project” by the Pew Research Center, the practice of sexting is more common among adolescents, but among the population aged 18-29 support. And, although not as frequent, are also popular among the 30-49 years old.

2. It is not so common. Again, not true. In 18-29 years, admitted a third of respondents to receive sexually explicit photos / suggestive, and 13% of the poster. While text messaging is faster than a phone call, it is also anonymous and can create space for the expression of thoughts and desires that can not be cast in person or via telephone. Although this form of sexual communication can be appropriate in the context of a relationship can be given to unhealthy situations, if misused, and even strangers.
