How can we uncover our secret sexual self and raise our sexual intelligence?
Having three primary components. cognitive, emotional and social. The cognitive component, includes knowledge about sexuality, its biology, how sex changes as we get older, and so on.
The emotional component requires, an understanding, that our emotions are linked to our sexuality, as well as avoiding the use of sex, to meet emotional, but non-sexual, needs. The social component, is the capacity to talk openly and honestly, about sex and our sexual needs with our partner.
Forces of shapes, in our sexual intelligence, the messages, we receive about sexuality, when we are growing up, particularly from our parents are powerful influence. Not many , children as they grow older, have a conversation about sex with their parents. We may learn to associate sexual desire with shame or guilt.
The secret sexual self, is an often contradictory web of yearnings, associations, assumptions, and, apprehensions, some of which are painful or anxiety-provoking, and so we avoid looking at them. We may have developed fears, and, insecurities, about sex from past experiences. Sexual intelligence can turn around seemingly hopeless, painful situation.
