The Art of Erotic Beauty

Sexuality is the gateway to life. Sexual union is a sacred offering of pleasure and a journey into the ecstatic horizon — where the manifest and un-manifest, possible and impossible, merge into one glorious being.

The woman is the hearth
The male organ is the fire
The caresses are the smoke
The vulva is the flame
Penetration is the brand
Pleasure is the spark
In this fire the gods receive the offering of bliss.

This is a 80 million year old fossilized Ammonite shell. Its spiraling inner chambers have crystallized into glistening shards of quarts. It is set as if on a throne, amidst a collage of hand carved erotic figurines.

Erotic postures are suggestive of the variety and play of love — the dance of pure sexual expression. On another level, since the long lost times of old, they are symbolical of power and vitality of creation itself. The ancient world of Egypt, India, China, Tibet, Arabia and Japan celebrated sexuality. All the differing forms of sexuality had a place, and were embraced with acceptance and respect.

In the East, and scattered throughout the world, are temples adorned with finely carved sensuous scenes, erotic scenes depicting lovers in different yogic like erotic postures. Each position is supposed to not only unlock hidden joys but also heal and empower the corresponding parts of the lovers body and mind!

“Fertility festivals in ancient India were times of gaiety and free sexual license… These were considered necessary and extremely lucky… During this phase some erotic stone sculptures were made showing couples in various stages of sexual union… they were used to decorate temples and were believed to be auspicious and protective from the forces of evil… Later, such erotic subjects became even more common, with whole temple facades covered with finely carved sensuous scenes, often depicting lovers in a multitude of erotic positions” Erotic Sentiment

If it wasn’t for the hope of greater joy and happiness, would you really have any reason to live? Pleasure when embraced with respect and innocently experienced, enhances each of our lives and gives us reason to be grateful.

The dogmatic, hypocritical moralism prevalent throughout the society in which most of us live, has all but blinded us to the natural beauty of our own sexuality! Under the cloak of fear: — guilt, mistrust, victimization and confusion has breed like a virus destroying families, marriages and scaring young lovers for life — there is also a fear of unwanted consequences, of getting pregnant accidentally and this results from sexual naivety and lack of proper instruction.
