Unprotected Sex is Practiced More and More Young People

BRATISLAVA 26th September (ZDRAVIE.sk via AFP) – Young people around the world increasingly are practicing unprotected sex while on effective methods of contraception which they know little. This results from an international survey, the results released on Monday.

The study titled Clueless or Cluedo Up: Your Right to be informed about contraception (in translation uninformed and informed: Your right to be informed about contraception, note. Ed.), Which was the campaign World Contraception Day (WCD), highlights the fact The number of young people who have unprotected sex with new partners, increased for the last three years in France by 111 percent in the U.S. and 39 in the UK by 19 percent.

“When young people have access to information and services on contraception, you can choose between options that affect every aspect of their lives. That’s why it is so important that young people have access to accurate and unbiased information,” said Keller .

The survey was made on Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals supporting 11 international NGOs. Attended by six thousand young people from 29 countries, including Chile, Poland or China, who had expressed their relationship to sex and contraception.

“How can young people decide what is right for them, and protect against unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases if they are not supported and will not give them the opportunity to gain experience they need for making such decisions?” Woodside said.
