Why Do Men Love Pornography So Much?

With so much talk of sex and pornography addiction these days, speculation is rife over what it is that attracts people to adult material.

It’s a typical belief that porn is something men are much more into than women. Yes, many women enjoy viewing pornography but mostly, it seems to be a male-orientated activity. So what is is about porn that the guys just love?

For some men, it’s just a release. We all know that some men (and women, to be fair) find it difficult to remain monogamous – especially if it’s in a long-term relationship. However one way for them to feel they can overcome the temptation to go out and cheat is to watch other people getting it on! Although this isn’t ideal, it is probably better than the alternative and this is something the person’s partner should consider before getting really angry. Masturbation can also provide release from frustration, anger or sadness, so this is perhaps another reason why they utilise it.

Secondly, porn can just be a novelty for some guys. Think about this… sure, they might enjoy a particularly sexual lady getting frisky on the screen, doing god knows what. Would they want to date her though? No! It’s simply a break from the ordinary for the guy; enjoying looking at something especially naughty from the outside without actually having to partake in it themselves. What’s more, if they are with a person whose opinion they respect, then they won’t force any of their sexual desires on them. That doesn’t mean they disappear though, so if your partner enjoys watching people have anal sex and it means he won’t force you into it, surely that’s a win-win for both of you?

It’s also a means of escapism for some guys. Life gets boring sometimes. Going into work day after day, having the same meals, the same company and the same routine can get boring. Just as a man or woman might enjoy a few glasses of wine to unwind, some guys like to spend ten minutes with their favourite film star; after which they’ll likely return back to their usual day.

Lastly, porn is just plain fun for some people. They have a sexual personality and aren’t afraid to embrace that. It’s only when it gets in the way of their regular day-to-day life that it’s a problem, so perhaps many of us could afford to be a little more open-minded when it comes to the big bad world of porn.
