Sex sells mainly because we like sex we want sex and if sex is being shown were inclined to pay attention, and since that is what we like as a society that is what we advertise with as a society. Remember we are the media if everyone all of a sudden liked helicopters for some reason the media would cater to that and follow the fad its not what they want us to do, its they do what we want and take it further.

i don’t really comprehend the part where it says, “Public opinion has slackened and most all of us know its there, and in some way support it. Yeah If you buy magazines, make up or trendy clothes you support it too. So the question is why?”
What “it” is, is it public opinion or sex?

it’s a basic instinct
food sells, drink sells, sex sells
like all instincts it has two dangers:

It’s too bad that society as a whole would not get behind honor, kindness, decency, etc. The heros our youngsters watch are those they will usually try to emulate.
