Why Women Fake Orgasm
The researchers surveyed 453 women, ranging in age from 18 to 46, who had been in relationships for at least six months and many confessed to routinely faking orgasm to keep their hubbies faithful to them.
In a research study carried out in the American cities of New York and Michigan, women have devised an ingenious mate-fencing strategy that takes the form of faking orgasm every time they make love with their partners. The report of this study was published in The Archive of Sexual Behaviors by a group of researchers led by Farnaz Kaighobadi of Columbia University in New York state and Oakland University in Michigan.
Pretending orgasm where there is worry of infidelity
According to the confessions of about 50% of the women involved in the study, faking orgasm was viewed by these women as a mate guarding technique resorted to by those women who already had pre-conceived beliefs that their husbands or boyfriends were men of higher risk of partner infidelity. In situation where the women were worried of their partner’s cheating, they tended to resort to pretending orgasm with expectation of making their partners enjoy a high ego while having sex with them.
Rapturous faked orgasm makes the fakers more appealing
The respondents in the study also hoped that making their hubbies/partners feel this sense of rapturous orgasm would make the women more appealing to their hubbies/ boyfriends with a long term view of conditioning them (women) as the only centre of good sex. In the final analysis, these women believed with all their hearts that their men would remain faithful to them when subjected to routine faking of orgasm.
Other mate guarding strategies
The study also found out that women who used this mate guarding strategy combined it with other mate protection techniques such as dressing in sexy manner for their partners and following closely what he does that have anecdotes of cheating. Where they were sure that their partners were straying in the direction of a particular female, these women would approach such rivals and tell them off, with explicit threats and warnings not to look in the direction of their men.
