Your Personal Scent is More Erotic Than Perfume

Certainly, odors do have an aphrodisiac effect.

Next to touch, smell may well be the most active erotic sense.  In lower mammals (like dogs and cats), smell may be the whole courtship.  Male dogs sniff a bitch to see if she’s in heat, and act accordingly.  Odors don’t influence us quite that much…but than you would guess.

Did you know that the Eskimos aren’t really rubbing noses when they kiss?  They are smelling each other’s faces, a sign of deep affection and attraction.  Eskimos are fully aware of what we may have missed – that each person has a unique aroma.  When they like someone, they move physically closer together immediately.

Without really thinking about it, we tend to associate smell strongly with our lovers.  After a long separation you may be quite overcome on sensing again that indescribable aroma that means “your lover’s name, love, closeness, bed, sex” all at once.  It’s comfort even to smell the clothes of an absent lover.

In our modern age, concentration on smell is mainly aimed at spraying it out of existence.  Aerosol bombs are blasted at armpits, vaginas, even penises get a jet of spiced scents.  In Europe, smells are allowed to “ripen” on the body.  Continental lovers expect stronger odors that might overwhelm a super-deodorized person of another culture.

Certainly, odors do have an aphrodisiac effect.  Sweat, vaginal lubrication, and other body secretions can chemically arouse desire in either sex…if there is no prejudice against them.  Since most people in industrialized countries are biased against body odors, I suggest you keep them down…except when visiting European lovers.  Even a clean, deodorized body works up quite a scent during adorous amours; so there will still be something for the olfactories to sniff!

Let your personal preference (and your lover’s) be your guide.  Some women enjoy the smell of a man’s perspiration (if isn’t a week old).  If you know that turns you on, grab your man before he gets under the shower.  Catch him after his workout, or surprise him by slipping under him while he’s doing push-ups (if you can contort your way through).  Likewise, some men really savor a slightly gamey girl (at least an undeodorized one). The youth culture in general is said to emanate “groovy smells.”

At any rate, you should not be so mentholated or perfumed that your own true aroma can’t seep through.  Your individual scent is one of the strongest holds you can exert on a man’s erotic memory.

Great article TK. I actually learned a lot here. To a point—smell and be damned!

Wow I like the history about Eskimos which smell each other’s faces before kissing. I think is very sexy. :)
