How to Make Yourself a Human Lie Detector Machine: Five Tips

How to spot an amateur liar. Tips on how you can tell someone is lying.

Are you tired of guessing whether your friend is telling you the truth or not? Read these tips to easily spot an amateur liar (specially when he is in tangles already).

  • Touchy – Observe the hands of your friend and note the things he do with it. Someone who is lying will likely to put his hands on his nose, scratch his head or ears or do anything that is unfamiliar (with you as his friend).
  • Shifty – The second thing to do is to look at your friend’s eyes. Are they shifty? Can’t he look into you directly?  The probability is that, he’s lying.
  • Silent – Most liars are chatterboxes. If you feel that your friend is talking too much and too fast about a not-so-exciting thing, he is either on drugs or lying. Try being silent for a minute and if he became uncomfortable, he is doing the latter.
  • Robotic – right after your conversation with your friend, tyr observing the way he walks. If it is robotic or something (like he waddles his behind), he is either trying to dance Boom Boom Pow or uncomfortable because he doubts if you know that what he told you is just a bluff.
  • Relieving – When your friend is in the middle of his talk, try changing the subject to ‘rotten eggs’ or anything  that is farfetched. A liar will immediately be relieved and an honest one will be surprised with the sudden shift of talk.
