Ice Age

Ice Age.

The Great Ice Age that began about two million years ago,and ended 10,000 years ago brought about many changes in the Earth’s climate. The temperatures fluctuated, becoming cooler during some periods and warmer during others.

The glaciers of the Ice Age have often been described and receded in an undulating motion, leaving behind piles of rocks and other natural debris, and carving out new landforms as well.

As the ice advanced, sea levels fell, exposing narrow bridges of land between continents. This led to the movement of animals from one land mass to another,in search  of food and new territory. At the same time, the Ice Age also resulted in many species becoming extinct.

Good article but here is a more scientific and more factual explanation:

Genesis 7:11-12 (New International Version, ©2010)

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.
