A Daddy’s Love at The Ballpark

The parent we should all be…

My son plays little league baseball, and I have never missed a game.  I carry the picture of him in his baseball uniform that looks like a Topps baseball card in my wallet.  For us, the game is and always has been about one of those things in life that are meant to be shared by a father and his son.

I saw something on the news this morning that struck me as beautiful….

This is what being a parent is.  Bravo to Steve Monforto for being a great daddy to his little girl, Emily.  In a situation where many would have at least had an urge to Homer Simpson the Kid;  he did, after all, all but fall to his death here…. the only thing that crossed this man’s mind was making sure that his little girl knew that daddy loved her, and that she had done nothing wrong.

Take a moment to be like Steve today if you are a parent.  Remind your kids that you love them, just because.  In a society where we idolize all of the wrong people, here, for a moment, was a hero.  Hats off to a world class move at the ball park that had nothing to do with the game.
