A Damned Nation

Can we as human beings truly survive any longer? We steal from each other, we kill each other and we hate each other. We destroy each other’s lives because of a religious figure that no one can prove exists. We are incapable of not creating havoc and chaos. After years of torture, pain, war, disease, greed, hatred, racism, and jealousy one would think that we could learn to co-exist.

America has always prided itself on that fact that we can find solutions. They may not always be the best, but at least we try. Most importantly, we recognize that there is no final solution, we must find better answers for problems we thought we had already fixed. Alas our nation has been blinded by it’s pride. We don’t only fall short on issues like the Iraq war. We lost touch with issues like violence in school, children’s education, spousal abuse, teen pregnancy, child abuse, theft, everything down to simply running a red light. When did we lose the comprehension of morals? 

Before we examine the fact of a kid bringing a gun to school to blow everybody away or that there are parents that wail on their children like its going out of style. We really, i mean really need to figure out how we let this happen. A kid should not be able to buy a gun or get his hands on a weapon of such destruction. neither should a parent every want to raise a hand in anger to their child. Its not movies or games that convince kids that its o.k. to murder there friends. It’s not beer or drugs that sparks such violence in parents. I’ve never seen a game where you kill a bunch of people and then the police walk up to you and shake your hand, and tell you that you did the right thing. I’ve never seen an alcohol commercial say ” hey you want to shut your family up, try our product it will morally put you in the right when you smack tiny Tim around and brutally rape your wife.” No, and i can guess that one else has either. My question is how can you not be disgusted with yourself if you do such a thing. In Missouri most women can’t even defend themselves with out spending sometime in jail. I say the problem comes from the lack of fear. If a child thinks he is a man and wishes to do the evil deeds of men, then he should be punished as a full grown man. If that child kills a number of people then put him in prison for life or put him on his death bed as you would a man. Do not put him in a hospital to receive help, the doctors can come to the prisons. A man beats his wife put in jail, if he does it again jail with no early release and force a divorce get the wife out of the situation.
