Am I Saying

It would be irresponsible of me, to outright deny that any Heroes have escaped the grips of the ghetto. But what about everyone else?

I’m sure that when slavery was coming to a end in the United States, it meant a great deal of pressure was about to fall on Slave owners. These people were taught all their life that they were superior to the “animals”, that were slaving for them. These “animals” were fed scraps and housed poorly. Mostly they weren’t paid and they didn’t deserve the right to own a thing not even their own freedom. Their children were sold from under them. their women were raped. None of the work they did was for their benefit. During wars they fought for this country. They were free men in other countries yet, returned home to be slaves. The men that were set free were blackmailed into working for food and shelter, or just to remain with family or to stay in a familiar place.

“Don’t think that I’d bring this ugly section of our country’s history up for nothing.” It’s 2009 and there is a new form of slavery. The reason there isn’t a war on poverty is that poverty is the number one supplier of these new slaves. There’s also a new plantation. A mental and emotional plantation. The inner city is that plantation. The system is the new master. This master is relentless in its approach when recruiting more slaves. the system has many avenues such as:

  • Orphanages
  •  Rehabs
  • disciplinary schools
  • State and County Prison facilities

   Their soldiers are

  • Social Workers that can grab them as early as when they were first born.
  •  Police who can grab them off of city streets even schools.
  •  Some of these entertainers from all genres radio and T.V. alike.
  •  Last but not least a combination of, poor parenting and poverty.

Am I saying that the social workers intentionally neglect these children. I think that would be  irresponsible of me. What I am saying is I don’t think enough of the taxpayers money is spent on the focus of getting these delicate children into safety and out of harms way. I don’t think enough design is going into screening these people who’s responsibility this child will become. Reading about as much abuse these children suffer, makes you wonder what hasn’t been written? I have talked personally to  many of these children. They wanted their parents they missed they parents, some even wonder who their parents are. They needed guidance and encouragement. They received instead neglect and punishment. If I said every child trapped in the system as ward of the state had a sad story with a unhappy ending I’d be lying. You hear and read about famous and successful people that were adopted and raised right or their parents “got their act together”. I’m not writing about them. They are fortunate and blessed. I’m writing about the ones that go straight from orphanage to detention center. In these places you learn learn survival at it’s pettiest forms. Upon release as a young adult most are destined to be right back. These places offer scholarships or serve as a scouting ground for different businesses or fields of entertainment which is one of our countries  major exports. The ones that have nothing to offer are sent into the inner city adult shelter system or a distant relative or who ever they know.

Hi, this massage is a powerful post…. and there were a lot of curiosity that questioned themselves in that time period…. but the understanding that is needed in today’s wisdom is, a practice in our respect for learning… studying… disciplinary… that will form a society, in a order that will allow all of our children to properly understand history.
