America: Propaganda People

America, think about what it means. Let all the associated images, ideas, and events that America symbolizes come to mind. Let these images and ideas fill your mind for a few moments then return to reading this. Do you have some things? Generalized, you probably pictured presidents, kids with flags, the idea of freedom. Now understand these things where intended to come to mind.

Everything you know about this nation and its activities are intended. Any opinion you have isn’t naturally your own. We are surrounded by propaganda in this country. Don’t be so shocked. Don’t take this as a Democrat or Republican issue. It is an issue of survival. I give you a chance to see the world as it is. But you must promise to really try, only then will you understand.

I have read too many articles bashing this country. Too many don’t understand the purpose of government and people. Specifically in the areas of foreign interests and war. If you believe America acts differently, more the point badly, more than any other world power I ask you to read this with an open mind. To those of you who already believe something of this paper I reference William McAdoo, “It is impossible to defeat an ignorant man in argument.” Stay open minded, do not close your mind till you reached the end.

I am a realist. This is defined by dictionary.com as, “a person who tends to view or represent things as they really are.” A realist bets on a tiger rather a gazelle, not for the sensation of violence but for the guarantee provided by the claws and teeth. Apart from this I am also a republican, I’m telling you this so you can see how much my opinion isn’t involved. In order to see things as a “realist” you need to prepare yourself to remove any comfort zones and overcome all biases. Things will get confusing and complicated.

Nature, we can accept is the instinctual status quo. Things are the way they are because they grew to be. Eat or be eaten, those with the better skills always survive. Society and countries share this “instinctual status quo”. Big nations take over the little ones. The Crusaders, the Inquisition, the Spanish Empire, the British Empire, the point is it’s not new. Countries try to defeat others, they befriend other countries so they can help in defeating another. It is nature. Find a beautiful animal and behind it is another waiting to eat it. Find an undeveloped country, somewhere in it is a developed one abusing it.
