America: Propaganda People
A response for those who also feel America is in the wrong.
Ok fine, so we are being brutal over there and no one wants to be there. Why is it that despite public protest we are still in Iraq, how did we even get there. This I leave to Herman Goring. Goring was a high ranking Nazi military general. When asked how he could follow the Nazi’s let alone convince others to he responded, ” Naturally, the common people don’t want war…But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship. …voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”
To the latest political stand-off, corruption, I’m a tad confused. Again I’m a realist. Let’s consider our politicians. They use television commercials, paper ads, radio ads, and internet ads for election campaigns. Also these ads are run every day. Have you ever looked at the cost of one of these ads? A senate campaign costs several hundred thousand. A presidential campaign, millions. Now look at the pay scales. None of these positions make more than $400,000.00. They are spending tons to make a little. Think logically, obviously there are “under the table” moves being made. This may be why prescription drugs cost so significantly more in America. Why despite constant public repeal, there is no fence along American borders. Why, healthcare costs an arm and a leg to fix a finger.
I’m positive that the topics I’ve addressed are incredibly more complicated than I have portrayed. This is merely for you to understand why we are doing what we do. As much as one may hate a public official we have to remember we voted for them. If you don’t like how this country works there are things you can do. Protest, as I said before freedom of speech is the ultimate illusion of freedom. Write your local representative, it’s their job to listen to you and so long it’s, “We the people”, they have to. But if you really want things to change this is what you need to do .Stop shopping at Wal-Mart. Shop at local grocers. Buy American made products only. This will eliminate our need to buy from other countries, thus our abusing them. If you really want to change things stop consuming so much.
Yet as I imagined. You’d die without your Ipod, life would cease without our cheap foreign goods, and we’d vanish without our quick-made pre-packaged dinners. This change will never come because the people made it this way. As I said in the beginning, a government’s key purpose is to selectively eliminate certain freedoms for the protection of sovereignty and the people interests. We are the reason the government does what it does. As much as we can picture some dark military room filled with sick-minded greedy men thinking how they can corrupt the world. It’s probably a board room with a bunch of good men saying, “The people are sick, the things they make us do.” It has always been and always will be “We the People.”
