American Life. What are They Thinking?

The American standard of living seems to me to be getting worse every day. I think that in many ways the American politicians are being lazy, or are they trying to ruin this country on purpose? I think that the reason that the American standard of living is suffering, is because the politicians want all countries to be equal; which would be fine, if they did not ruin this country in the process . The thing is; it is easier for them to lower and ruin this country than to have us help raise the standard of living in other countries. There is no other excuse for what is happening in this country.

Before 911 life was going good. The American people were working, and the businesses were profitable. Now companies that want to stay in America are struggling just to keep their doors open. I do not understand what has changed since 911. The average American is worried about loosing their jobs; if they have not already done so. American businesses are forced to compete with other companies that pay over seas labor; slave wages. Everyone seems to know it is happening; so how come the politicians, do not take measures to change things.

The only way to get this country back on track we need to keep big business away from politicians pockets. I refuse to believe that politicians today are so uninformed that they do not see the crisis they are creating. If politicians are that out of touch with life; they should retire from office anyway. I think that any country, that allows all the American companies to move over seas, and do nothing to keep them here is crazy. The time has come to end the free trade agreement. The free trade agreement was always a bad idea. Before the free trade agreement came around people had jobs in this country. The American companies did not want to pay to ship products into this country, so they stayed here. Now big business gets away with paying next to nothing to have their product made, and still charge huge amounts for consumers to buy them. Tell me the company that wants to give up the American Consumer.

There are a lot of problems that are contributing to this countries demise, but I doubt that any issue is more serious than illegal aliens. I do not refer to immigrants only to those that are in this country illegally. These people who chose to be here illegally and not come the same way as the immigrants do. They take the work away from those who are here because it is their home. Tougher laws are needed to curb this trend. Laws need to be written to untie law enforcements hands and new officers need to be hired to help enforce those laws. The main problem with this group of people are that they are here illegally and they take work away from the American citizen.
