Bachelor and spinsters ball

A brief description of when they started and when they will be on around eastern Australia

B & S balls have been an Australian tradition amongst young people throughout rural communities, long distance friendships are rekindled and new friends are found.

One of the most important aspects of it is to raise much needed funds for organizations and to showcase local communities.

It is not known when the first B & S Ball was held in Australia but it is believed that the tradition stems from the irish town of Lisdoonvarna, where every year since 1871 a matchmaking festival would take place. B & S Balls have changed much over the years and although they might be completely unrecognisable from their traditional roots they still play a valuable part in the life of rural communities.
