Banks and Megaupload Over Aid

Megauploads head of security told him that Mr Banks asked for a political donation and said he would be a very good friend, when he gets back into Parliament.
This is what the email stated, also Mr Banks suggested Megauploads staff meet the Prime Minister to try and smooth over his mansion purchase.
This was written to Megaupload by his head of security, on July 30 after taking a call from Mr Banks.
This comes amid a police investigation into political donations made to Mr Banks 2010 mayoral campaign, a $50,000 donation split into two at the request of Mr Banks.
Megaupload is under house arrest on internet piracy charges, he has also offered an explanation why he decided to release information which proved so damaging for Mr Banks.
Megauploads bodyguard had just had a call from Mr Banks about a small donation for the Act Party for which he is standing for Government this year, he said he will be a very good friend for you when he is in Parliament, he said Mr Banks was personally embarrassed that Megaupload was unable to buy the Coatsville mansion he was living in, this email was sent immediately to Megaupload after the conversation at about 8pm.
Mr Banks had lobbied on Megauploads behalf, and according to the email Mr Banks said once in Government he would have the power to do something about it. Mr Banks suggested a personal meeting with the Prime Minister on the subject and thinks the Prime Minister will intervene.
An emailed statement confirmed Mr Banks asking for money.
Megaupload said your Government has caused me too much trouble or something like that.
After the November election, there was another call from Mr Banks, who said he was looking for a hotel recommendation in Hong Kong, where he was travelling for a Christmas holiday, he also said he would like to talk to you in the new year now he is back as an Member of Parliament
Megaupload said he was disappointed in Mr Banks representation of his electorate, he had a particularly uncomfortable time in Prison, because he had to sleep on a steel bench with a thin mattress while dealing with back pain.
He asked his lawyers to contact the local MP, Mr Banks to raise awareness of conditions in the prison, and Mr Banks who had professed friendship less than a month earlier, had asked his staff for Megaupload not to make another request.
