Calling All Fellow Bloggers From Different Parts of The World – Help!
In times like this, we need to set aside our cultural differences and whatever conflicts we have.
To my fellow bloggers from the different parts of the world, I need you to help me spread some love this Christmas.
Iligan City, Philippines is still under state of calamity. Many people have died due to the tropical storm Sendong. Many families have lost their loved ones. I just chatted with a friend. She has a relative whose whole family of 5 members died in the flood. I felt terrible but it is nothing compared to those are directly affected.
I have received reports that around 200 families are now temporarily residing in the gymnasium of Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT). They all need more than our prayers. They need supplies of food, medicine and clothing. The families also need some money to somehow to go back to their normal living. I am calling you to share with them your blessings this Christmas.
I am an alumnus of MSU-IIT. My fellow alumni are now the front men and women to cater the basic needs of the evacuees. I am miles away from my alma mater but it doesn’t mean I couldn’t extend some help. And so are you. Distance isn’t a hindrance for you to help those who are in need. I am hoping that in my simple ways of whispering in your hearts, I could make you to feel the willingness to help.
In times like this, we need to set aside our cultural differences and whatever conflicts we have. We need to become one body. We need to help each other to make my fellow Filipinos survive and cope up with the trials they are facing right now. We all live on the same Earth. We all are same earthlings after all.
There are so many ways you can help. You can approach the foundations of TV networks like ABS-CBN and GMA. They can make sure the affected families will receive all your donations.
You can also donate by simply texting. You may text to the Philippine National Red Cross hotline numbers. For the SMART subscribers, just send RED (space) (AMOUNT) to 4143. For GLOBE subscribers, you may donate using GCASH. Just text DONATE (space) (AMOUNT) (space) (MPIN) (space) (SLB) and send to 2882. Valid donation amounts are 10, 25, 50, 100, 500 and 1000. These amounts surely can’t hurt your pocket. Yet with these small amounts, together we can contribute what the victims needed to survive.
All LBC Express branches are now accepting donations for the victims. They will deliver your donations to the needy free of charge.
You can also deposit your donations directly to the account of Association of IIT Alumni Foundation Inc. Name of bank is BDO. Their account number is 003120169026. Just scan a copy of your deposit slip and send it to the president of the Alumni Foundation Mr. Darwin Manubag for their accounting and your acknowledgement.

I think it’s important to share a little bit of Christmas with the needy. Instead of sending Xmas cards nowadays, we donate to our favourite charities. Lovely article v rank.

Yes these poor people need some Christmas cheer. What would be the best charities to donate.
