Capitalism is Still King

Recession. Economic downturn and even a depression. We’ve been through this exercise before and We have survived each time. It’s just cyclical. Through each of the previous episodes, as a country We have tried to examine the underlying causes and some have tried to forced politicians to make changes to the system to tilt the system more in their favor. But, essentially things have remained the same and they probably won’t change much after this most recent economic downturn. Why? Because We like it this way. It’s what makes us who We are.

From the lowliest worker at factory to the CEO of fortune 500 company; people  understand that the capitalistic system that is currently in place provides the best opportunity for upward mobility in any society. It can serve as the great equalizer among races because the only color that matters in a business transaction is green. The more you can afford, the less your backround is a factor. America and it citizens understand and respect wealth as long as it is attained honestly.

The problems We are experiencing are not the fault of capitalism and never will be. Capitalism thrives off  free people making decision to do or not to do something. Making free decisions to buy or not to buy something. Making free decisions to make loans or not to make loans. And through this process of all of these free decisons being made, winners and losers emerge. Those who make the best decisions will reign as the winners and those who make the poorest decisions will be the losers.  It’s captialism and it’s the way We do things in America.
