Charcoal and Diamonds
Difference between charcoal and a diamond…
You would not believe it but charcoal and diamonds are closely related:
- both charcoal and diamond are made up of the element Carbon
- charcoal is the amorphous form of carbon while diamond is its crystalline form
- charcoal can be broken by normal force but diamond is the hardest known mineral; diamond is number 10 in Moh’s hardness scale
- charcoal is black in color but diamonds can be colorless or transparent and colors can range from yellow to brown to black
