Charlie Sheen: What Have You Done?

What do we have here? A level of money and fame that obviously doesn’t buy you happiness.

Oh dear. What is this guy doing? Seriously.

Turn on the news tonight during bouts of procrastination to find that there’s a piece on Charlie Sheen getting all plastered up and situated in some strange circumstances. A call girl taking shelter in a closet? Drunk and half naked on some floor being discovered by . . . hotel staff? Back to . . . jail? No. Rehab? Ok, so I didn’t pay close attention to the fairly small but significant details. In saying that, you have to admit. How the hell does Charlie Sheen’s drinking and after hours activity become so interesting or important that it made it in to little old New Zealand’s news?

Seriously?

MONEY THAT ISN’T GETTING YOU LOVE OR HAPPINESS

My first thoughts were: if you make that much money, how you gon’ end up in our news like that? Isn’t that like a new low of sorts? Where you make it into the serious news slots of small countries that you’ve never visited? (I’m speculating of course. But my certain money is on the idea that Sheen has NEVER been to New Zealand. Don’t sue me if I’m wrong). Studies say money doesn’t buy happiness. Obviously it’s not buying him happiness. So if it’s not making you happy Charlie, please. Do the right thing. Forward your wealth to me. I promise. It’ll make me happy.

NEWS THAT JUST ISN’T REAL NEWS

Of course my second lot of thoughts were: how did this make it into the news? Shame on you serious news slots in New Zealand (you know who you are!) Don’t you have more important things to share with the nation? Like how The Hobbit was saved from being snatched from your movie making hands? (Side note: aren’t those execs faint hearted? But I guess in saying that, it’s not my gazillion dollars being used to produce it so that’s why I don’t feel faint hearted about making it here). Oh wait. That did make the news as well. Hmmm.

Gosh. What would happen if we didn’t watch Mr. Sheen so carefully? Would he act so badly if he wasn’t under so much spotlight? It almost feels like that one of those situations where the more you watch awful behaviour of a psycho kid the more psycho they get JUST because they have and can get your attention. Maybe I’m wrong.

Maybe he’s just misunderstood and that’s what the news was about. We need to care more . . .

Yeah right!
