China: Its Rises and Its Falls

China is awesome. It has wonderful people, awesome tourist sites, and mouthwatering food,

But all is not well. There are many hardships in china, like the growing pollution, the ongoing amount of people homeless, and the terrible amount of stray animals.

China is a place where miracle happen, and its a place where heroes fail. I’m going to write about china in this article, and so to be fair, I’ll write about a good thing, and a bad thing.

The People

I’m going to start with the people. Mainly because they are the rises and fall of china. Now don’t get me wrong, The people are great. For example: I went to china for vacation in the summer of 09, and my family, though they are fluent in Chinese, could not locate every place we needed to go. So, we did the easiest thing, we asked someone. And we did this a lot. And 100% of the answers were all positive. Though some didn’t know where it was that we needed to go, they still answered in a positive attitude. So in conclusion  of the people, they were on the whole, a nice bunch.

The pollution

OK, I’ll be fair, china produces the most amount of greenhouse gases and other harmful gases More than any other country in the world. But that’s only to be expected, because it has more people in one place than any other country in the world. But the bad part is, many people don’t even bother to try and keep this world alive. At the bus stop one morning, we were going to a popular mall in china, I saw a women eating a yogurt, probably for breakfast. Fine, nothing wrong with that. But when she finished, there was a trash can about 10 yards away from her, but she decides to look around, see if anybody was looking, and threw it on the ground. And worse, the people that did see it reacted like it happened everyday. No one took a second glance at it. Its like they all don’t even care about the world anymore.

The tourist sites

China has a TON of tourist sites. It would takes years to name everyone, so Ill just name a couple.

• Beijing: Beijing itself is a tourist site. Beijing is the place where it all happens. For example: the 08 Olympics was was held at the birds nest in Beijing. In fact, the birds nest is now a tourist site too! Beijing is like tourist sites inside tourist sites.
• The Forbidden city: This is in fact also located in china. It has a lot of history there, and even the famous movie The Mummy 3 was filmed there. It is a great place to visit.
• 
• The great wall: The great wall, too is located in Beijing. I even had the opportunity to climb about 1/1000 of it 4 years ago, in 05. It wasn’t easy, but it was still awesome, and the view was beautiful.

  Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses: We all heard about the terracotta figurines made to protect the great emperor Qin from death, but have you ever seen them? It is super awesome, I even did a report on it once. This is actually located in Xi’an

To conclude this one, I think you get the point. 3/4 of the ones I named were in Beijing, by which meaning Beijing has the bulk of the places, but I listed about 4/10000 of the places in china.

The needy and homeless

If you ever walked down a very populated road, you might see a homeless guy begging, or a women and a toddler, selling peaches for 1 yuan. That stuff makes me very sad. I hate to see all of them so helpless, and I hope you do too. There is an obvious explanation for this. Too many people. if one guy beats the other guy to the last position in the company, what happens to the other guy? Well, he goes homeless. This is a big problem in China, But I’m happy to hear that people are helping to open up new jobs and opportunities for them.

The Food

The food here is just great. But the food in china some would say be better. the master chefs always come up with new scrumptious dishes often, and its all just Delicious. OK, some are a bit disgusting, like dogs and cats, but very few people eat that anymore. If you ever have the chance to go to china, One of the thing you’ll definitely notice is that the food is awesome.

The animals

I’m an animal lover, and I just hate to see animals starve. At night, if you walk down a road, you will see at least one stray dog or cat. And the worst part is? A very small and cute puppy is starving, and all that the people do to it? they runaway, the scream, they try to beat it away. I just hate it when they do that.

The conclusion: I personally like china, so I want to finish of with a good thing: Its improving. much less people are homeless today than in 05, And they have planted and cleaned up really well since 05. Now it still is kind of polluty, but it has gotten better. But as for the animals, well, the kinda got worse… but I’m sure it’ll improve next time I come.

I am now going to finish off, and all I can say is: if you ever visit: remember the good things, and forget the bad.
