Choosing a Hero
What it takes to be a good guy or gal in comics.
If it was Superman had showed a weakness towards revealing himself to Lois. Superman went through some mental turmoil wanting to be true to himself. This by the way can contribute to new books based on the fact Superman would have been happier being human but had a mental block that made him always look for an excuse to change from his modest self to a caped hero.
The problem in getting Superman to be something different from what he was in the past meant that in a novel one had to research through all the villains he had to meet , the UFOs he came against, the suspicions of Olsen or anybody that Kent knew, who may have had a notion on who he actually was. The problem in creating the novel is that if one wants to go backward to gain perspective on his super origin one would have to invent the causes Krypton’s demise. One would have to research possible angles that would go much deeper than what Marlon Brando suggested when he played Superman’s father.
One does not have to be a super hero who has a super-girl companion, a super dog friend and other spin offs. Batman is more of the gentleman type who may have wanted to be more heroic than he was. His story could also be researched into finding why he needed robin and what was behind the presence of the butler who Batman confided in. Was this some kind of father figure that Wayne needed because he wasn’t strong enough to work alone? Perhaps it was because Batman thought of himself as a gentleman even though he wore a super cape and had someone who acted as a sentinel at headquarters that was a giant bat cave.
Others superheros have come and gone including some female ones like Wonder Woman. She had tights though which some people frown as inessential attire for heroines. she also had no straps on her top which could have made her vulnerable. By that I mean that her costume wasn’t made for combat. Those are inessential arguements because all the superheros had some kind of tight fitting garb. Perhaps that element of wanting to be more a woman and less of a soldier will make her appealing if anybody want to make her more complete as a person.
