Do We Need Co-Anchors of News?
Not really just trying to please the sexes.

This co anchoring of the news at local stations are really a scam to please mainly the ladies and hope to draw in viewers to which one is appealing. Say what you want about Jerry Springer, he stated it best. News are made up of people who are pretty people. And that’s the truth.
They sometimes click and sometime they don’t. They throw the camera personnel off on who suppose to read the telepromter. And as viewers we just say, if they had one anchor they wouldn’t be looking stupid on the news. Sure it goes back to Brinley and Huntley and others during the sixties on network news.
But it seems they don’t trust the one anchor like they use too in certain markets. We either have to please the women audience or the minority audience. When in reality we just want to hear the news.
Look at national sports I hadn’t met too many ladies to measure up to Robin Roberts or Hannah Storms in terms they knew their subject matter better than the athletes trying to be reporters on programs. I remember when Barbara Walters hosted ABC news with Harry Reasoner IN THE SEVENTIES. And that decision was only made because she made a million a year and the news was in last place. And if it was in first she wouldn’t have been placed on it.
Same with Connie Chung at CBS by this time Rather ratings was slipping and he was hurting. So again a bad decision putting her on the network news knowing the ratings wasn’t going to climb any futher then ot already was.
Now look at the Big networks not a single co anchor to be seen on the channels. So why can’t the local news come to their senses. Because some group will get offended.
