Dreams Can Make a Difference
Times are changing and prejudice thoughts are a thing of the past. A new generation is emerging filled with love for one another. A dream is becoming fulfilled and our children are leading the way.

I was thinking about the first time I ever saw Michael Jackson. He was this adorable little child who sang like god had lifted him up unto his heavenly realms. He suddenly broke out of group and danced like no other child of his time. Being a child myself I thought how brave, how ambitious, and how talented. I wanted to be just like him. Now I am white and he is black but somehow that didn’t make a difference. He crossed those racial barriers and I wanted to be just like him. Now, this was a time when blacks and whites were so different and how dare them to like each other.
About the same time Michael Jackson came out Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor made the scene and ,man, were they funny and they changed my whole out look on black people. Suddenly they became real human beings and not monsters. Now I need to explain this, when I was quite young prejudice was a way of life. Martin Luther King was marching and all the old people ,most are dead now, were actually very afraid of him. They knew he meant change and change was their worst nightmare. I remember how they spoke about the events of the time and how as a child I kept watching for the end of time to approach. In a sense the end of time for: prejudice, was on the horizon. A dream unfolded and once again a man died to thread his purpose into our hearts.
As we watched Star Trek and saw the way our famous Captain Kirk never once showed any signs of prejudice to Michael Jackson dancing his way to fame our concepts of a barrier began to fade. I love Eddie murphy and Richard Pryor never miss a movie they’re in. Blacks became common on TV and if the movie stars didn’t notice a difference and folks, they are famous, why should we, as common folk.
My children grew up in a generation where the color of skin is what you get in the sun and every body ( black and white) wants it. My children never notice a difference if you say something, they put their hands on their chins, back up and look, and reply “oh yeah”. They never let it effect who they marry, who they love, and who they have children by. A new generation of human beings are being born half black and half white. The new color is love.
A better way to describe this new generation is a generation of love without the blinders the old people put on our generation as children. This generation is not always headed in one direction but can turn left and right, east to west with unconditional love. My blog is jesuspassageway.blogspot.com for more reading.

Yes. Now we have a black US president. We’ve come a long way. Racial barriers have not been totally broken, but strides have been made.
