Entertainment for Girlie Sleepovers
Finding ideas to entertain a bunch of girls for a sleep over can be difficult. No one wants to be stuck without a plan, otherwise you’ll be left with girls running crazy throughout your house.
We all know how difficult it can be to plan parties for children, and when the parties are going to be sleepovers it can be even more trying. I am going to help you in the planning department. You don’t want to disappoint your daughter by having her friends over with nothing to do.
Fingernail Painting
Every little girl in the world loves to look beautiful! Buy some (or use what you have) fancy bright colors of nail paint, make sure you have a good array including sparkly colors and clear sparkles. Set up your living room or dining room to look like a nail salon, and allow each little girl their turn in the “salon” chair!
Make-Over
Along with fingernail beautification, why not go ahead and fancy up their hair and make up too. They will love being in the spot light and it will help with their imagination games like dress up. Little girls rarely get to wear make up and they love it when they do! You could also get glitter hair spray and add a little twinkle to their do!
Remember to get parent’s permission before doing the above.
Beads
Most girls are crafty, and what would be more fun than making friendship bracelets with your closest friends? Get lots of different beads, and make sure to stock up on the letter beads. Little girls love spelling things like princess, queen, and their name and initials.
Dance Time
Turn on the tunes and let those girls twirl around in circles. Not only is it fun, but it will tucker them out! They’ll get all of their energy out by bed time and you won’t have to fight them to turn out the lights! You could let your daughter pick out some of her favorite songs before the party and have the music ready, then all you have to do is press play.
Sharing Time
Ask each child to bring their favorite stuffed animal to sleep with (include this on the invitation.) You could then give each child a turn to tell a story about the animal they chose to bring and why it is so special. Children love being in the spot light and they will eat that time up!
Movie and Popcorn
No sleepover is complete without a movie and popcorn! Let your daughter choose a movie she wants to watch before the party starts, that way there’s no fighting over what you all will watch. You could also buy special popcorn such as movie butter, or caramel corn.
You may not have time for all of the activities, and I guarantee you will be ready for bed the second their heads hit the pillow, but it will be a night remembered! Keep in mind that it is your goal to make your daughter’s party special! It’s all about her, so let it be all about her!

The next time I have a sleepover I will try this. Oh wait, I don’t have sleepovers. Well, I’ll paint my nails for fun I guess, but only my hands, I’m too fat for painting nails.
