Europeans and Americans Working for The Chinese

A few years back, it is really unthinkable that many Europeans and Americans would work for the Chinese.

A few years back, it is really unthinkable that many Europeans and Americans would work for the Chinese.

At the time when China first opened its door to foreign direct investment, many foreign owned companies set up factories in China.

Many Chinese love to work for the Europeans and Americans, because they have better benefits, and more overtime salary.

They are treated with respect too, instead of being treated like a stray dog.

However, the world has changed.

Now many Europeans and Americans are working for the Chinese.

For example, in the high profile takeover of Volvo by the Chinese company, Geely, many Europeans suddenly find themselves working for the Chinese.

While the management seems unchanged, the thought of people from developed world working for bosses in developing countries definitely is not comforting.

A few years ago, United States accused China of stealing technologies.  It happened rather frequently at that time.

You could read of such reports of strongly worded accusation practically every month.

Now, nobody dares to accuse the Chinese of stealing technologies.

They do not need to steal.  They just have to fork out money to buy the whole company, and they can do a technological transfer.

The appetite of China government is getting greater and greater.  It used to buy many smaller companies through the state-related Chinese companies.

Now it is making large acquisitions, and many Europeans and Americans workers are thankful for the chance to keep their jobs.

Without the China companies to soak up companies, many more workers would be unemployed.

When bread and butter issue is involved, the thought of enriching people in developing countries do not come to mind.

The majority of the Europeans working in Volvo will definitely not resign due to the fact that they do not like the Chinese.

Money is money.  As long as they have work to do, and salary to feed their families, that is enough.

If Europe and United States do not recover fast enough, more established companies will fall into the hands of the Chinese.

It is still unthinkable that Chinese will own the livelihood of most people in developed countries, but the possibility is definitely there.

This only shows that the Chinese economy is improving while that of the Americans and the Europeans is declining.

China will soon own the world if we don’t get our finances in order.
