Faith based support groups can be extremely effective for recovery from mental illness. I’ve been blessed by my discovery of Vincent Beyer’s faith based recovery program, aptly coined, ” Bible Tips for Happiness”. Mr. Beyer lives in Canada. His Bible Tips for Happiness support group is held in St. Catherine’s, but he offers an on-line program anyone can participate in.

My own recovery from clinical depression was faith based, and included Bible study and meditation on the word of God. I’m thrilled to be able to present this interview with Vince. God is doing wondrous works through Mr. Vincent Beyer.

If you or anyone you know suffers from a mental illness please refer them to Vince Beyer and the Bible Tips for Happiness  support group. Even though it’s faith based, anyone can join and reap it’s benefits. The program is available on-line with live telephone support.

.

Now, onwards to the interview with Vincent Beyer, the creator of the Bible Tips for Happiness support group:

1. What is your personal story, testimony and background?

Vince: I grew up with a speech impediment, partly because of a strict father, but mostly from kid’s teasing me about my looks. I had big lips. The two combined produced a state of anxiety within me. The anxiety manifested itself in my speech, a general desire to be left alone, a predisposition to be a thinker, and a general immaturity in how I acted, and in the decisions I made.

2. Have you attended support groups in the past?

Vince: Prior to my emotional breakdown in 2001, not seriously. After my breakdown I went to many. Both to heal and some to help lead.

3. What was your experience in support groups you’ve been a member of?

Vince: The groups I went to generally taught that the program works when you work it. But after considerable time spent attending the groups, people didn’t seem to get well completely. They could prevent you from killing yourself, but they never really got people to a place of real freedom and happiness.

One time I was depressed, I called the local Salvation army, I was suicidal. They told me to wait to sunday and come to their church. I guess I got a laugh out of that PATHETIC help, I never did go to their church, but I never killed myself either.
At least this place sounds legit.

I feel that those who are part of the support group have been able to overcome their depression because of their faith. If you visualize yourself as a healthy and happy human being, you have already won the battle. This faith-based support group sounds very promising
