Faith Based Support Group for Mental Illness Gets Amazing Results!
Faith based support groups help people overcome mental illness. Vincent Beyer’s faith based support group, based on the Bible, gets amazing results. How can faith based support groups be effective for recovery from mental illness? I asked Vince to give us the scoop on why he created and implemented his support group coined " Bible Tips for Happiness". Vince also shares the latest fantastic praise report. Read on…
4. How did you get the idea to start a Christian support group for people with mental illness?
Vince: After finding healing in my own life, and some success in my career, I took the time to look at what the present programs in my area were offering people. I decided that more information could be included in the programs. Then I began to write my own.
.
5. What makes the support group model you wrote and put into practice unique?
Vince:
1. For one thing, we believe a person can be completely set free from any form of depression or anxiety. Most groups just nurse people rather than heal them.
2. We encourage daily contact with group leaders, not just attending the meetings.
3. Our program is Bible-based
4. We start our meeting with a meal. People who want to come to the meal bring their own food, and a little extra for people who couldn’t prepare a meal. The meal time helps to increase unity in the group, and it helps people make new friends. It also helps people see their shortcomings in their interpersonal skills.
Vince: We encourage people to prepare for a role in our open sessions. We have them stand up and deliver their roles. This helps them develop self-esteem. We have small groups. Small groups help people have an opportunity to encourage others with what they know.
7. What are some of the success stories you can share about your members?
Vince: One man told us he needed to go to a treatment facility to get help for his addiction. We provided a home environment that is nurturing and teaching. After 3 weeks, he has remained clean, and has just started a new job in his field of work, making good money. He now has hope that he can reclaim everything his addiction has stolen from him. And he wants to help others break free of their addiction.
8. What is your mission statement, and has the Lord given you a vision for the future?
Vince: Our mission statement is: To provide inspiration, friendship, and insight to help people regain peace, optimism and purpose. Our vision for the future is to have many churches use the Bible Tips for Happiness program. We would like to give people the opportunity to attend a BTFH support group meeting everyday of the week should they feel the need.
9. How can someone reach you on the web to find out about the on-line and offline programs? Are you on Facebook? My Space, You Tube? etc.
Vince: Here’s a link to our web page:

To hear Part 1 or a 3 part video of my story on You Tube go here:
9. If a church or ministry wants to use the Peace Plus/Bible Tips for Happiness program to minister to their members, what should they do?
Vince: They can order our 88 page workbook for $15 per copy, or they can download the book file from our web page and print them off themselves.
I’d like to thank Vince for sharing this info about his faith based support group. God is doing wondrous work through Brother Vince and the Bible Tips for Happiness program gets results. This recovery tool is sure to be of great benefit- for those who would like a supplementary addition to their mental health program.
Special congratulations to the Bible Tips for Happiness member Vince mentioned. Thanks to the Bible Tips for Happiness faith based support group, he’s overcoming addictions and re-entering the work force. He has a well paying job in his field and success in life. To God be the glory!
John 8:36 If the Son shall make you free you shall be free indeed.
The Bible Tips for Happiness program welcomes everyone. Even though it’s faith based all can reap it’s recovery benefits and safe, welcoming fellowship.
Note: The program is also offered on-line. For those in the Canada area here’s all the info you need to attend:

One time I was depressed, I called the local Salvation army, I was suicidal. They told me to wait to sunday and come to their church. I guess I got a laugh out of that PATHETIC help, I never did go to their church, but I never killed myself either.
At least this place sounds legit.

I feel that those who are part of the support group have been able to overcome their depression because of their faith. If you visualize yourself as a healthy and happy human being, you have already won the battle. This faith-based support group sounds very promising
