Festival

Festival is a day or period of time set aside for feasting and celebration of a community. OR Festival is an event usually and ordinarily staged by a local community, which centers on and celebrate in a community. There are so many festival in NIGERIA, but there are five international festival in NIGERIA. They are: (1)OSUN OSOGBO FESTIVAL.(2)EYO FESTIVAL.(3)CALABAR FESTIVAL.(4)AGUGU FESTIVAL.(5)OJUDE OBA FESTIVAL.  All these festival has there own time or period of celebration in there own community.OSUN OSOGBO FESTIVAL.Osun  osogbo is a festival unique to osogbo, NIGERIA. It is usually performed in OSOGBO, OSUN STATE, SOUTH WESTERN OF NIGERIA. Osogbo has been founded as early as ODUDUWA period during the olding days. Osogbo is formed by OSO-IGBO. Oso-igbo the goddess of osun rive which was the queen of the river. She was credited with so many important achievement, which helps to establish the state. She lived in a beautiful surrounding and possessed
magical powers, which inspired her people and frightened their enemies. She used water from the river as a medical treatment for her children which protect her children from diseases. There was a sixteen pointed lamp that keep on burning from thd sixteenth (16th) days before the festival comes up. That sixteen pointed lamp helps to indicate the day when the festival will comes up. The festival comes up around octomber every year. These is osun osogbo anthem.Osogbo ilu aro, oroki asala, areo peta, are peta won ta o osun osogbo pele o pele olomo yoyo.    EYO FESTIVAL. Eyo is a festival unique to lagos, NIGERIA. It is usually performed in lagos island, and it is widely believed that EYO is ugf forerunner of the modern day carnival in BRAZIL. The senior EYO group is called ADIMU. The EYO festival was approved by the OBA OF LAGOS was carlier scheduled to held in honour of late CHIEF OBAFEMI AWOLOWO. Eyo is also refers to the MASQUERADES that comes out during
the festival,but it is usually held as the final burial
