Fighting Oppression: Unite and Win!

There is a lynch pin to the apparently various and seemingly overwhelming sources of oppression in our modern world that if removed will bring the whole rotten edifice tumbling down and enable the Good Guys to win. What is it?

Before anyone becomes overwhelmed by all this, realise that this presents the Good Guys with a solution. The various aspects of suppression are like the manifold symptoms of a disease. If you merely address the symptoms and ignore the underlying virus that creates them, you do not achieve a recovery. The best you can hope for is an interminable and ultimately vain struggle to suppress symptoms whilst the disease itself rages unchecked. You must isolate and eliminate the virus in order to clear up all the symptoms.

If, for example, you want to save the environment, you have to address and resolve this question: why is it so financiallyunviable for governments and businesses to ensure the continued ability of this planet to sustain life? In every other sense not to do so is sheer madness, yet the “market forces” of our economies promote that madness – and punish any attempt to restore sanity.

If you wish our many difficulties to become amenable to resolution you simply have to address the hidden underlying flaw that renders our economies incapable of serving the real needs of mankind. That flaw is the very nature of what we are using for money. Our money is debt and as a means of exchange it does not work.

But how do we reform the debt-money system? Simple: restore to elected government the sole right to create and issue – by spending into existence, never lending – all the money the economy requires in order to function smoothly.

This simple reform will restore to government, and thus its electorate, control of its own policies, remove debt and excessive taxation from our lives, render economies responsive to human need and, as Abraham Lincoln once said: “Money will cease to be the master and become the servant of humanity. Democracy will rise superior to the money power.”

This reform will not magically cure all the world’s ills. What it will do is remove from the financial elite their unseen power to control the affairs of men and remove from our endeavours the blight of an unworkable money system. This will move us up to square one: the point at which we can set about dealing with our many problems with the expectation of success. They will become amenable to resolution because the hidden power that resists our best efforts to deal with them will be gone.

This provides us with the issue over which all betterment groups can unite:a demand for monetary reform incorporated into the various campaigns in which they are engaged. Without any group having to surrender its autonomy or compromise its goals, all groups will become a powerful alliance able to effectively address the common enemy’s Achilles’ heel.

The whole interlocking power of oppression is inherently weak. It is weak because it is based upon an egregious fraud. It is weak because it depends for its continuance upon preventing people finding out about it: when people see it for what it is, they are not going to tolerate it a moment longer.

All we have to do is expose it broadly, denounce it loudly and demand with outrage that it cease. A broad alliance of betterment groups speaking out with one voice over this crucial issue could achieve this relatively easily. There are, after all, a whole lot of us and very few of them and they know no justice and no decency and command no loyalty they cannot buy.

The world can belong at last to honest men, provided honest men unite and stir themselves to take it back. Men like you.

It will be in safe hands then.

So why not let’s do it? Quick!
