We are in fact going to discuss the World Rug Shaking Championship.
The 2012 awards were held in Dublin, Ireland. Yes, only the Irish could come up with something like that. But this event attracts over 200 housewives from across the globe to compete for the coveted trophy of “Best Grip and Shaker”.
The idea is to display your talent for getting hold of a household rug, gripping it and then giving it three almighty shakes.
The winner is determined by the force of the shake, technique and the positional grip of the hands in which to maximise stability and the positional balance of the competitor. It is not just about how good of a shake you give – but many factors come into play.
This year, Mrs.Gui.D.Tug from Malaysia won first prize. Runner up was Irish favourite, Miss. L.O. Vehead.
Mrs. Tug was pleased with her trophy and aims to show it off with pride upon return to her homeland. “I love to give my husband rug very good shake,” she claims. “I charge 5 dollar a time.”
Reporters tried to trace Miss. L.O. Vehead, but she was too busy with her partner to comment. Despite this, journalists managed to get a wink and a smile from the boyfriend with what appeared to be Miss. Vehead cleaning the seat with enthusiasm where he was sat.
