Grayson Demands Bar to be Raised

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson is demanding the bar be raised by his players after a home defeat to Reading last Saturday left the Elland Road outfit two games without a win in the Championship.
Leeds still sit in sixth position in the Championship on 35 points, but Reading have closed the gap on them to two points with the win propelling them into seventh and Crystal Palace’s win last night against fellow promotion chasers Birmingham City also means they join Reading on 33 points, right on the tail of Leeds.
Grayson is well aware of the expectation levels at Leeds this season and needs his players to step it up a notch to get back to winning ways.
“Too many of our players have been below par over the last couple of games. We are still in a good position with half the season to go but as individuals, we have to raise the bar.” Said Grayson.
Leeds are next in action on Boxing day when they visit Derby County and have another away trip a few days later at neighbours Barnsley on New Years Eve. With the promotion hunters rapidly closing in behind them, Grayson is desperate for a change in fortunes, threatening to wield the axe if there’s no improvement.
“Everyone wants to get promoted and you have to do something about it. – If they don’t want to do that then other players will have to come in.”
