Heroes Writer Jeph Loeb Had a Thing for Blondes
by In all the criticism of television stereotypes, it’s amazing Heroes was never targeted as another biased show.
Let’s count how many times we saw a brunette in Heroes. I’ve been watching the first season because I never got a chance to watch it when it was on tv, and now I’m shocked at how little people complained about it’s selection of cast members. One scene with a line up of the cheerleading squad shows nearly all blonde white girls. There was only one brunette. The two girls in the show, Hayden Panettiere and Ali Larter, are good actors but they deserved better shows. Putting them in positions of cheerleader and webcam whore is so typical. Couldn’t they think of anything more challenging?
The Japanese cast was really disappointing as well. Ask any Japanese person and they will tell you the language skills were ridiculously mediocre. And the exaggeration of their expression was pathetic. I am shocked this show even lasted one episode. I am so glad the show ended up in the dumpster because the writing, casting, and acting was terrible. This one belonged in the comic books.

An interesting point of view. I watched series one and two but three just got silly the plot had run out. As regards sterotypes? it does not offened me in anyway but we are all different thats whats so great about different opinions. LB

I never watched the show, but I am aware of what it is. I liked reading your views about the show. I didn’t know the show was so stereotypical. Other people must have felt the way you did since the show was canceled.

Never got to watch “Heroes” , although I’ve always been interested to, as Hayden Panettiere (another blonde) is there. Great share!
