How American Are We?

    Time is always on our hand when it comes to change. Looking at how our country is now compared to how we use to be has changed a lot. Sure we still are the country that believes in freedom, But has freedom controlled our country in these past decades? When we won the war our leaders wanted to be free from persecution of what they felt was wrongly done. There campaign is not much different then the politics today it is just easier to hide certain facts from the country. The respect to what is right is it still there in the hearts of our government? Or is it in the objective of what they see fit? Being part of the government in the beginning of our country showed that what ever the struggle is we will get through it with out haste. But has so much changed that we have forgotten the struggles we have today?

      Understanding that our country has changed is important, But has changed along with other country’s. Knowing that change has only happened in technology. Politics has not they want the glory. Glory is pride for anyone that runs their campaign. When we look so much at the present and focus so much on the bad it puts a blind up on what we have accomplished in our fights over the years. Even in the beginning campaigning was big you wanted to be on top. Be the next big thing in showing that I am a man. The only thing that has changed is how the politics push things a lot more them so it can benefit their campaign. To be on top during our fight in becoming America the generals were part of politics, but for them in campaigning was to show what they have accomplished for the new world.

       So why has some of our country’s image change? Why is it that we will slowly help the citizens in our country? Our doors are not open in more to opportunity, It is only open to those that do not struggle. Our country has put so many bi-laws in our system of government that the ones that deserve to earn opportunities. To earn something and not have it handed to you is much like what we fought for. Showing that you will help your neighbor has dwindled over the decades in our country. People have gotten more selfish or not trusting of why someone is asking for help. Yes guidelines need to be there, But how sad is it that people of America will watch someone get beaten in the street and do nothing. The ones that dare are hero’s of today and remembered in the future. Compelling yourself to lend hand that can take your life was common with the leaders of old.

      Looking through the decades of our history it is us the people that have changed. We want to twist our laws to fit what we want to do so we don’t get into trouble, Or to get past the another law. Our government hasn’t changed it is still there. Our liberty was written down on our Declaration of Independence. When you loose sight of what our country stands for we loose part of our heritage. Yes, we the people have changed so we need to regain part of the past into or changing future. Remembering that we as individuals will change, Our opinions on politics will change from time to time. As politics run our country we should expect them to withstand up to us and do what our country has always set out to do. Finding a medium, there is no medium it is or it isn’t. No compromises should be made on how to run our country. Maybe our government leaders need to reread our what our heritage wanted and what they stood for.
