How Youtube affects our world
by Youtube has affected our modern world and has brought many changes to our community.
It is not surprising anymore when we see that new youtube sensation on tv, whether it is the ellen degeneres show or on oprah. Many amateur artists, be it music artists or artists with other talents, are taking the fairytale route to fame. Youtube is a major stepping stone for the modern artists, names like Greyson Michael Chance are Youtube legends. Greyson, a 13 year old boy from Oklahoma who posted a cover of Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi shot to stardom after ellen degeneres decided to have him included in her record comapany “eleveneleven”. It is expected that many Youtube Artists will follow young Greyson’s path to the spotlight in the near future.
Youtube has also affected many others, recently,a Youtube video titled “Golden Voice” shared the talent of Ted Williams, a homeless man who has an amazing voice that would no doubt make him seem like the new Morgan Freeman. Ted Williams, who had suffered much in recent years due to drug and alcohol addiction would be given a chance to live a new and better life with his new job at ESPN.
Therefore, Youtube is definitely a major boost for the modern day media. Many new talents are being discovered daily, through the use of this site.
Youtube is not only useful at spreading the latests new and sensation, but is useful in our daily lives. The majority of us have used youtube to find out how to use the latest technology or to cook the delicious dish we just ate at the local restaurant. Youtube affects our lives, making it more convenient and speeds up our gathering of information.
However, Youtube can be detrimental to our society as well. It is not difficult for a delinquent or even a terrorist to access Youtube and post videos of things that would influence the public in a negative way. Youtube users should therefore be disciplined and considerate enought to report such videos so as to prevent such wrong-doers from having their way.
Youtube is a major part of today’s media and if used properly, it could bring one to stardom, or educate the public. But, if used in the wrong manner, it could easily cause the young minds of today to be negatively influenced.
