Being human resource director, unusually means you are at the core of the company hiring of employees and making sure the rules are follow or investigated to be true or false. But, sometimes this position is used as a get even with co-workers in a work at will state.
Simply, because you can terminate or they can terminate for no reason in certain states. Funny many companies strive on this practice or getting rid of some very loyal employees, either to save money or employees to make room for friends.
Many former employees will tell you when you need references you’ve got to list the former employer, who lied or use some form of at will state or lie to eliminate you into the unemployment line. Are they going to honest or vindictive with the future employer about your work ethics.
Unions usually get criticized a lot but in certain companies they are

truly needed because of the history of some well known firm history of dealing with their employees.
