I Am Sorry..

These words are used to express one’s remorse over wrongful action(s).

Essentially saying that EDSA II was a mistake, the cancer-stricken Cory Aquino publicly told Erap: “I feel guilty… All of us make mistake. Just forgive me.”

  • Marijuana-Smoking King of the Pool

  • Eight gold medalist Michael Phelps was caught smoking from a bong, a water pipe normally used for smoking marijuana. He was photographed at the University of South Carolina in Columbia as he was making a visit to a female student who he is said to be secretly seeing.

He said: “I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I’m 23 years old, and despite the successes that I have had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in manner that people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public – it will not happen again.”

  • George W. Bush’s Confession

  • He should have done a genuine expression of remorse long time ago. But, anyway, we become contented with his confession in an interview. Bush finally, although still not directly, apologized over his decision to invade Iraq. He said, “(My) faith that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction was wrong.”

Very late an apology… only after thousands of American soldiers and Iraqis lost their lives, and also thousands of innocent Iraqis’ lives were left to shambles.

  • The Screwed Up Black President

  • Without doubt, he’s one of the most popular person in the world today – not only because he was elected to the highest political office in American land, but more importantly because he is being seen as source of hope to a nation betrayed by his immediately former president.

After appointing two tax defaulters to his team, Obama was manful enough to issue an apology and own up to his mistake. He said, “Yes, I screwed up.”

Admittedly, it’s rare. Most apologies are not tendered before considerable damage has been ensured and endured.

  • The Monster Austrian Dad

  • We heard after Josef Fritzl. Last year, it was discovered that he treated his daughter as a sex slave in the cellar of his home during a 24-year orgy of depravity in which he fathered seven children. Yesterday, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes of rape, incest, sequestration, murder and enslavement.

After personally watching an eleven-hour video testimony of her daughter – who is now being kept in undisclosed area for protection and to help them out start afresh – the Monster Dad, as he is called by Austrian media, made his expression of remorse: “I am sorry from the bottom of my heart… Unfortunately, I can’t change anything now.”
