Ignorance is Terrifying
The inexcusable excuse.
These people who cannot hold these types of conversations are the same people who use the word “ignorant” as a synonym for the word “rude”. This is quite possibly the most misused adjective thrown around by, ironically, ignorant people. If someone cannot grasp such a rudimentary function of the English language, such as common definitions, he or she certainly has no hope of holding a political or religious conversation that doesn’t involve name-calling and door-slamming.
Why bother putting these words on paper? Well, ranting aside, there is a kind of purpose to this mosaic of black and white printed on the remnants of some trees which used to make up a forest and support an entire forest ecosystem but that now only hold these words (wow, that’s kind of a lot of pressure). If every person who spread “gossip” had only first-hand experience concerning the subject of his or her tales, think of how many 13-year-old drama queens’ lives would be changed for the better. If every person who testified in court was honestly informed about the matter at hand, think of how much less corrupt the judicial system would be. Likewise, what if every citizen of The United States was well-informed of his and her constitutional rights? Think of how much progress we would make, as a collective, in every direction possible.
Ignorant people piss me off not because they are incapable of becoming informed; rather, it is because they are capable.
