India Being Cowardly in Name of Gandhi: Justified?
In the recent years, India has become one of the most affected countries due to terrorism. The hesitation of the Indian government to act even after having solid evidence of the perpetrators is not understandable nor tolerable.
Since 1971, India has lost almost 30,000 people to terrorism. India has faced repeated terrorist attacks in past 5 years. Despite so much loss of life and destruction to property, The Indian government has done very little to stop terrorism in the country. In the recent 26/11 attacks on mumbai, when 10 gunmen held the city on siege for 60 hours, almost 200 people died. The Indian government had solid proof of Pakistani Involvement. The 26/11 attack was not the first one in India. Many such attacks happened before it. Yet, The Indian government refused to do much except to engage in diplomatic dialogue with Pakistan.
Let us now take the Example of Israel, a tiny country in the middle east which is surrounded on all fours by its enemies. It is in constant conflict with the Hamas and Hezbollah. Whenever, the Hamas attacks Israel, Israel hits back full force. They are doing it in pure self-defense. They realise that if they stood silent, the enemy will rise and destroy them. They are not worried of economic sanctions, human rights allegations or any sort of peace negotiation. They know that if they need peace, they need to destroy their enemies.
India, despite having faced multiple terrorist attacks, refuses to budge and silence the enemy for good. India has full capabilities of crippling Pakistan, yet they are not using its capabilities. The Indian government which is led by the congress party of India, can be blamed for this. The congress consists of nothing but corrupt, selfish politicians who don’t care about anything except filling their pockets. They are reluctant to take any action against Islamic terrorism as they feel they are going to hurt the feelings of the muslim community in India. And why is that? Because the congress wants to secure the muslim votes in the next election and stay in power and steal the money from the Indian tax-payer.
It is funny though, even after being affected the most, The Indian common man forgives and forgets such atrocious acts and adjust with the situation instead of complaining or agitating. They are thankful that they were not the ones really affected. But why? When the others were attacked, wasn’t it an attack on their own brothers and sisters? Is it not justified to take avenge the dead and put a stop to this madness? The common Indian man would say that we come from the land of Mahatma Gandhi, whose principles of non-violence got us our freedom from the british. That India has never ever started a conflict since its birth. The common man believes that this madness will stop on its own with “non-violence”.
This is not “Non-Violence”. This is an act of pure cowardice. When India refuses to silence the enemy when it has to because it thinks that it will offend a particular community, it is cowardice. After being hit so many times and refusing to act, its cowardice. To the world, we are meek, cowardly and soft. If the country has to progress, it needs to protect itself and not bow down and engage in peace talks. The country needs to stand up for itself and show the world that they will not bow down to terrorism or intimidation of any sort.
