Indiana Indians
The Francis Slocum Trail. Better known as the “Trail of Death. How lush
the midwestern plains with wildlife and foliage. How bloody and brutal the
real story really is.
INDIANA INDIANS: Potewatomi, Miami, Delaware, Shawnee just to name a few. This is really a story about General John Tipton who was born in Tennessee in 1786. Later on his family moved to Harrison County, Indiana. Well General Tipton hated Indians. He thought that they were not more than 2 legged animals and not fit to live alongside the white man. He had no education. Ironically he was a U. S. Senator and a Grand Mason. Hah!
General Tipton was responsible for forceing the Miami Indians to give up their home lands in Indiana and walk “The Trail of Death”. The reservation was in Kansas and it was a 900 mile walk that took them 62 days. General Tipton died in 1839 and is buried in Logansport, Indiana.
This author has read some Indiana History and a great many of the pioneers believed in haunted houses. As a matter of fact they thought alot of cabin homes and dwellings to be haunted. The battles of the Indians and the U. S. Army were so bloody and violent I believe the souls of all those killed in battle did the hauntings which took place at so many locations.
