Insecure Control
Something I wrote about people controlling others.
We most feel insecure when we do not have control. Control can be over ourselves, our lives, even the world. But the hardest thing to control that makes us most insecure, is other people. People are the most unpredictable variable in our lives. Predictability often offers slight control, and people are not at all predictable. The cause of a lot of problems in our world is insecure people trying to exert total control. This does not just extend to politics, but families as well. I understand that a certain amount of control is needed to keep things stable and protect the things you care about. However, too much control will inevitably lead to problems. In any type of control, the best way is to reach an agreeable state where the leader is allowed to lead/teach but the controlled still are allowed an amount of freedom to let them use their abilities to improve themselves and the environment. If the people are completely controlled, they become mere robots, their own unique abilities declining into oblivion. Talk to those under your control, understand them and let them understand you. ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, all play and no work makes Jack a mere toy.’
