Is Technology Getting in The Way of Reality?
Texting is distracting us from our real lives.
“OMG I GOT2GO 2 DA dentist 2DAY”, text from Raven. Reply from Sarah, “LOL R U 4REAL I GOIN 2 LOL IF U GET BRACES.” The crazy part of these text is, that these girls were sitting side by side. Do you understand these text messages between these two girls? It is hard to comprehend what they are talking about. Right? This is why I had to bring this topic up. Is technology getting in the way of reality?
Texting has gotten out of hand. People what to text to someone less five feet away from them. They want to text and drive. Text answers to a test. We all did this one: Argue though texts. It is funny when you notice it happening.
We have the popular networking site “Myspace”. People want to rush home to check their “Myspace” when the people they were with, are the same people that they are expecting messages from. We have “Dating Websites” now.
In reality, people don’t have anything to say. They said everything they needed to say on the phone earlier, or through texts. Humans are meant to talk to each other. Face to face. You cannot get a ticket for talking to someone who is in the car with you. You can get a ticket or even in an accident, while texting or talking on the phone. When you are driving, you get a text message. What do you do? Your first reaction would be to grab your phone and read it. Example: “FWD:FWD: I am so mad at you right now. Why did you open your big mouth? Now everyone knows that I am sexy!” After reading that, you find out it was a waste of time and it was only distracting you. While driving, you ride past a police cruiser. He sees you. He pulls you over. Now you have to pay a ticket for a stupid forward message.
Many accidents happen a year because of distractions from driving. Sometime deaths over careless moves. You can avoid them by setting down you phone and pay attention. Drive. Do all your talking while your hanging out with your friends.
